You have way too much to offer to keep comparing yourself to others!

Author: Andrea

It is not unusual for most of us to look at the strengths of others and compare them to our weaknesses. Comparing yourself to those around is common, whether you do this sometimes or constantly, but by allowing others to have such an impact on our self image, we are letting them shape who we are.

But why do we do this? It doesn’t make us feel good, if anything it leads to unhappiness and a drop in confidence. When we focus on the accomplishments of others and the qualities that they have and we lack, it could be due to insecurities that we have or the feeling that we deserve more than what we already have.

We need to recognize that we are all extremely different people, no one is the same as someone else.

We are all unique and have different qualities and skills that make us who we are, whether we see them as positive or not, but none of them have anything to do with the qualities of someone else. It’s okay to want to improve yourself and build your skills and knowledge, but you should do that for yourself and your own happiness, not to compete with someone else.

What if we were to compare a bird with a fish? If we were to ask who is best at flying, the obvious answer would be the bird, but what about swimming? Well, most of us would agree that the fish is the best. But is this a fair comparison?

Let’s look at an example. What if we were to compare a bird with a fish? If we were to ask who is best at flying, the obvious answer would be the bird, but what about swimming? Well, most of us would agree that the fish is the best. But is this a fair comparison? Not exactly, we’re comparing two completely different species who have very different qualities. In the same way, we compare ourselves to others and disregard the fact that each of us is unique. If we focus on the good qualities that we have and what makes us who we are, then we’ll realize that we actually have so much to offer and be proud about.

Focusing on our strengths and seeing our true worth is what leads to confidence and allows us to become the best version of ourselves that we can be.
