What happens when a youth contacts us?
Our peer support service offers youth a confidential and non-judgmental space to discuss their concerns with trained volunteers. With phone, text, and chat options available, youth can reach our youth volunteers from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Mon-Fri) and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Sat-Sun).
We prioritize encouraging safe decisions and connecting with trusted adults while providing relevant resources. Teens can also contact us 24/7 to connect with adult volunteers through phone, text, and chat.
What types of issues do youth contact ConnecTeen about?
We address many concerns, including psychological distress, friendships, bullying, mental health, and more.

Does ConnecTeen go out into the community?
We offer confidential peer support through phone, text, online chat, and email. Free short-term counselling is also available at our office. Visit Distress Centre’s website or contact 211 for more information.

It’s difficult to know exactly what to do when a youth you know is experiencing difficulties. We offer a wealth of resources to help guide you through supporting a youth, but simply being a shoulder to lean on can make a world of difference.
