3 simple ways to study more effectively

Authour: Chaten

With school comes tests and hours of endless studying, and honestly, studying isn’t something that all of us really want to do. Sadly, it’s a fact of life for high school students and its best to look at studying in a positive light. Studying is great for helping us learn things that can be useful in our everyday lives.

The only problem is that most people study really inefficiently, either by constantly being distracted, or by just not knowing how to make information “stick”.

3. Quiet spaces are incredible for getting work done.

A quiet space allows you to focus on your work and give you a space where you won’t be easily distracted. I know that a lot of people like to listen to music while they’re studying, but it’s not always that best idea to do so. When you are learning new concepts, or going through new types of problems, it’s best to keep the music off, because it can distract you and make you miss critical information.

Music can be awesome though, as studies have shown that listening to music when you are doing repetitive work, like practicing math, can make you a lot more productive. Listening to music can be awesome, just make sure you listen to music at the right time.

2. Studying with other people is also a great idea, as it lets you both ask questions and work though problems together.

It’s also a great idea when you don’t really feel motivated to study, because when you see other people studying, it will generally make you feel like you should study too. When studying with someone else, make sure that they genuinely want to study, or else that person could end up distracting you. It’s also a good idea to not study with one of your close friends, as you’ll just end up wanting to talk to them.

1. The number one way to get more work done in a smaller amount of time is to remove distractions.

Try turning your phone onto silent, go into a quiet place and put your music away. I’m sure your friends won’t mind if you don’t Snapchat them back for a few hours while you finish your school work. Social media is the king of destroying productivity, and it’s always best to turn electronics off – especially your cell phone– when you want to get stuff done.

When you study, you’re learning things that are going to help you for the rest of your life, so take it seriously! In the end, just make sure that you are doing it right.
