A lot of people aren’t a fan of school, you’re not alone in that feeling. Motivation can be hard to have if you aren’t engaged with what you’re doing in school, the same applies to everything in our lives. There is nothing uncommon with feeling the stress that you are feeling, in the way that you feel it, or otherwise. That is to say that everyone reacts to certain situations in different ways.
It’s relatively common for young people to have thoughts of suicide sometimes. Having such thoughts doesn’t make you a bad person or not normal. But they can be really scary and distressing for many people. You mentioned losing your motivation and feeling as though everything is pointless. That may be something that you could talk to your doctor or a school counselor about. While we can’t (and won’t) try to diagnose anyone who contacts us, we can mention that having a lack of motivation is sometimes a sign of depression. Speaking to a mental health professional may be able to give you some insight as to what is going on for you.
If your thoughts of suicide get stronger or you think that you may act on them, please contact someone you can trust so you can get the help you need. This could be a parent, teacher, or other professional. You can also contact us at ConnecTeen.
