Watching TV shouldn’t be shunned

TV shows are always something that I’ve loved, but throughout my childhood my parents would constantly nag me about how much TV I watched. Now that I’m older, I know they had a point about not watching too much TV. On the other hand, I’ve also learned that there are a lot of benefits to watching TV. Just remember that you should never spend the whole day binge-watching, as watching too much TV really can be pretty bad for you.

Mostly everyone watches at least some TV, but if they don’t, they may have heard a lot about certain shows from their friends or others. On a side note… did you know that talking about TV shows can be an awesome way to start a conversation? Even if the conversation is with someone you don’t know! Not only is TV a good conversation starter, but watching TV can help  keep you up to date with what’s going on in the world. For example, watching the news or sports.

Watching TV can also be a great way to relieve stress. TV shows and movies let us escape our own lives, and let us live in a different world for a little bit. It can be a great thing to do when life seems to be dragging you down because it lets your mind and body relax. You don’t have to watch TV for long. An hour of TV a week could be all that you need. You could even choose a TV show that you devote to watching weekly, like The Walking Dead.

Good TV shows usually have an underlining idea they’re trying to convey to the audience. That means you could be learning something every time you tune into a show! Documentaries and other educational show can teach us, and I find those shows are some of the most interesting to watch. Not only do educational shows entertain you, but they can also help you learn more about the world.

TV is a lot of fun to watch, it can be a great escape (especially when we get stressed out) and there is a lot that we can learn from TV.

It can give us a new perspective about the world, help us start conversations and make new friends. But remember, there is such a thing as too much TV, and spending your whole day watching isn’t good for your health. Just be reasonable with how much you watch and TV can be something that is really worth it.
