Peer Talk

How do I tell someone that I like them?

Liking someone is both exhilarating and terrifying, especially if they don’t know how you feel. If you feel this way about someone, are you comfortable enough to simply let them know how you feel? It’s easier said than done, but if you are friends with them, it will be much easier than you think. If you are friends with the person, you probably have a good idea of how they will react, so it will make it easier to decide whether you can talk to them about it.

If you don’t feel comfortable telling them directly, have you thought about sending them a text or an email? That way you won’t have to feel uncomfortable or nervous when speaking with them face to face, and are still able to tell them how you feel. Writing things out can make things easier too. Then you’ll have a better idea of how you want to say things whether it’s in person or via text or email.

Telling someone that you like them is always a bit risky: they may like you back, or they might not. Consider the pros and cons before telling them.
