Get off your phone and live!

Author: Chaten

Smartphones are incredible devices. We can text our friends, browse the internet when and most importantly are smartphones let us take loads of selfies. Sadly, we all seem to be getting obsessed with our phones, so much so that they’re starting to take away from our real life relationships.

When you’re trying to have a conversation with someone you expect that they’re giving you their full attention. When they’re talking to you they expect the same. The problem is that when we’re on our phones during a conversation it doesn’t seem like we’re giving the other person our full attention – even if we actually are. This is one of the biggest problems with phones. They make it so we don’t seem interested in anything else.

I get it, there is so much to do on our smartphones, but it’s also easy to see why need to put them away from time to time.

Most of the time, the friends we make don’t come from online or from the internet, because we meet them in person. The thing with our phones is that they make it seem like we don’t even want to form new relationships or meet new people, which is untrue. The ironic thing is that when we pull out our phones, we’re usually talking to people who we’ve become friends with in person first. Plus there’s so much that we miss out on when we stay on our phones. We miss out on a bunch of crazy opportunities to have fun and to go out with friends because we’re all too busy looking at internet memes. Instead of going on Facebook for an extra hour, we should hang out with our friends! Think about how much fun that would be. There’s a whole life out there that we miss when we’re on our phones.

Getting along with family members can be hard sometimes, and having your phone on you lets you avoid talking to them in general. The problem is that your family wants to talk to you; even if it doesn’t always seem that way. The fact that they are your family means that they all love you, and want to see you succeed. Putting away your phone or technology when you’re around your parents or your siblings is also a good way to improve all of your relationships, because you’ll have to have face-to-face conversations with them. Being on your phone around your family also makes it seem like you don’t care about them, which isn’t true. So prove them wrong and put your phone away and enjoy some family time!

Your smartphone is incredible, it’s a tool that can be used for so much. Your phone is a great source for knowledge and entertainment, but don’t let it be your main source. Talking and communicating face-to-face has its own benefits and charm. Even though stalking your friends Instagram’s is good fun, going out and actually spending time with your friends and family will always be the better and more enjoyable option. Don’t spend all your time on your phone.

Go out there and spend some time with the people around you.
