I don’t know if my problems are real or not. And I just feel empty, wasted, broken. I don’t know if that’s depression because – There’s just a lot to say.
That sounds like a tough situation to be in, and it sounds like it’s really affecting you.I want you to know that you are not alone, many people feel empty sometimes.Sometimes, we also don’t know whether our problems are real or not. We may feel like we aren’t allowed or supposed to feel the way we do, or that there are other people worse off then we are.
But, our feelings are something we can’t control and they are always valid and real.
I can tell you have a lot on your mind and a lot you need to talk about. It can be very helpful to get these feelings out, whether it be writing in a journal, or talking to someone close to you. If you feel comfortable, it may help to talk to a friend, parent or even a teacher about this. Anyone you can trust. If you think you may be depressed, it may be important to talk to your doctor about your feelings; they’ll be able to help you sort out your thoughts and figure out what to do next.
I think it’s great that you’ve reached out to us at ConnecTeen, it takes a lot of courage to realize something isn’t right and to tell someone.
