Making time for self-care (with movie night suggestions!)

Taking care of your well-being is extremely important, but many of us (myself included) forget to make time to take care of our mental health. With that being said, self-care looks different for all people, whether it is reading a book, going on a hike or a drive, watching a movie or any other number of activities! Self-care is any activity that we intentionally do in order to take care of our physical, mental and emotional health.

Personally, my favorite way of spending my “self-care” time is by having a movie night, whether it is with the company of my family, friends or just on my own.

So I made a list of my go-to movies when I need a bit of cheering up:

  • The Greatest Showman
  • Any Harry Potter movie (my favorite is the Sorcerer’s Stone!)Mamma Mia
  • Clueless
  • Legally Blonde
  • Back to the future
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower
  • Moana
  • Enchanted
  • Soul Surfer

Don’t forget to grab plenty of snacks and always make sure to give yourself that little bit of time out of your day to take care of yourself!
