That’s a great question. Here at Connecteen we are peer support volunteers who answer the chat’s/calls/text messages/emails. We are all youth volunteers who also have other commitments like school so it is not possible for us to be here 24 hours a day. The Connecteen hours are during 5 pm to 10 pm from Monday to Friday and from 12 pm to 10 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The phone line stays open 24/7; however, outside of the hours described above, the calls get transferred to adult volunteers at the Distress Centre.
