I’m feeling really hopeless and unmotivated. What should I do?
I am really glad that you decided to reach out to us, it takes a lot of courage to tell someone about how you are feeling and what you are dealing with. Mental health can definitely be very challenging to deal with and thoughts of suicide just makes it even harder.
Getting better is also not anything easy. It is a tough journey with its rewards and perils along the way. Recovery is a process and there is no one right answer to anything since every person is unique in the experiences and feelings they put forward. Because mental health is so unique to each person, please talk to a doctor or counselor about how you’re feeling. Sometimes people need medication to help manage their mental health so it’s important to talk a professional.
Dealing with mental health and thoughts of suicide is tough and it’s also very draining both mentally and physically. Right now it may seem that there is no way out of this and suicide seems like the only option left. This is very normal when people feel this low but I want you to know that there can be a way out. You’ve taken the hardest step by reaching out. You don’t need to face this alone nor should you. If you can talk to your parents or family about it, they might be able to help. Or even contacting us and talking to a volunteer right away could offer you a different perspective and options. Please reach out immediately if you are feeling suicidal.
We care a lot about the people who contact us and want to make sure that you get the help you need. You are going through a very tough situation and you feel hopeless talking to someone may help you feel better. It may also be helpful to do things you enjoy or that could bring you some joy. That could be anything that makes you feel good like going for a run, playing sports, painting or listening to music.
